{"id":307,"date":"2012-05-18T12:50:42","date_gmt":"2012-05-18T16:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thesounddesign.com\/MIO\/?p=307"},"modified":"2012-05-18T12:50:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-18T16:50:42","slug":"box-remapping-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesounddesign.com\/MIO\/box-remapping-order\/","title":{"rendered":"Box Remapping : Order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>There are two rules to box mapping, and if you understand them, it<br \/>\nis not a problem to remap:<\/p>\n<p>1) If you connect a box while MIO Console is running, it will be mapped to its own<br \/>\nserial number in the console (if it exists) or it will get a new tab.<br \/>\n2) If a box is already in the console or a file, the data will be mapped to that box.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you have 4 boxes (a, b, c, and d) and you have a file for (a, b, c) and you<br \/>\nneed to swap d for b, the process is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1) Disconnect all MIOs from computer<br \/>\n2) Open File<br \/>\n3) If (d) is in the file, forget that offline tab<br \/>\n4) Save updated console to new file<br \/>\n5) QUIT MIO CONSOLE<br \/>\n7) Connect boxes (a, d, c) to computer (you cannot have b connected if you want to<br \/>\nmap its data)<br \/>\n8) Launch MIO Console with new file<\/p>\n<p>If the data for d is in the file, or if b is connected to the computer then you will<br \/>\nnot be able to map.<\/p>\n<p>The forging applies to any combination.<\/p>\n<p>The point is that you don&#8217;t forget the tab of the box you want to map FROM.
